Buying clothes in Tokyo - work shirts

Hey all. I'm now in Tokyo and was wondering if anyone could recommend me some shops/areas where I can purchase some work shirts? Preferably at a reasonable price... Was in a GAP shop on Sat - the prices there for casual clothes seemed pretty crazy.

What qualifies as cheap? It's cheap for me to buy wrinkle-resistant shirts from Eddie Bauer online. Cheap, because my wife does the laundry and she just loves it when there's no ironing involved.

You need to define "work" first.

Are you a white-collar worker or a blue-collar worker?

If you're a blue-collar worker, just look for a place that sells 作業服, they're very common. There is a good chain called ワークマン. They have 26 locations in Tokyo. Here's a link to their store location search engine.

Is it possible to buy non-iron shirts in the stores - that would be ideal. Cheap in my book is < US$50.

Have you tried some of the large suit chains?

Aoki : Store locations

Or if you feel comfortable buying shirts online, Rakuten is a good place to start your search.
 
If you are white collar, then I wouldn't refer to it as a "work" shirt, so much as just a shirt!
 
Uniqlo for the win. Also there are some shops that sell "work suits" that are the status quo Japanese Salaryman style. You can get basic white shirts there too.
 
I'm a fan of Youfuku no Aoyama, the first store Mike linked to. Pretty good deals on button-up shirts there.

If you can easily go to Okachimachi or Komagome on Yamanote line, you can find cheap business suits or shirts for 525 yen! at Katsuro.

I bought three extremely cheap suits at the Okachimachi's one, and I realised no left pocket in the pants of a suit. But it is ok considering the price.
 
maybe it will be a dumb question, but what's white/blue collar worker?
 
White collar = office worker (e.g. cubicle jockey)
Blue collar = manual labourer (e.g. mechanic/grease monkey)

As for dress shirts, if one is after some in long or extra large sizes at a reasonable price Landsend is pretty good. I'm a bit on the tall side (6ft 6) but their tall shirts are just the ticket for me.
 
I was just at Daiso (large chain of 100 yen shops) and noticed that they have shirts like the OP is looking for at 525 yen.

At that price, one can hardly go wrong buying one to see if they're any good or not.
