Buying a few DVDs...

Hey,

I have recently come into some money (found my old wallet under bed ) and am going to purchase some Anime DVD's are there any you guys can suggest, I have found some that appeal to me but know nothing about them;

-Appleseed
-Full metal panic
-Beserk
-Samurai X

Also I love animes with over the top animation and crazy characters above all else.

That depends on what kind of anime you are interested in, so we can start recommending..

Do you like stuff by Studio Ghibli? My favourite!!!
Are you into "down-to-earth" anime also? (as opposed to sci-fi, warriors etc??), because there are several good ones, I can recommend if you are into that kind of anime...

-ALL by Studio Ghibli, especially "Grave of the Fireflies", "Spritied Away"

umm, you've probably a big fan of dragonball then...

from those 4, i only vaguely know of Berserk, and you should read the manga first as its much more complete. from what I've seen, its really good. (but really dark)

Evangelion is pretty over the top (but very good), but its also pretty wierd for some people, and isn't all about fighting...

Trigun is great: a funny over the top thing... about a guy with a $60,000,000,000 bounty on his head who is a bit-of-a-retard.

Hunter X Hunter... Not really like the ones you mentioned, but really cool (my fave anime).

Since youre into futuristic anime (or so I assume), you should at least download cowboy bebop. Simply the best in my opinion.

I have only seen Samurai X, and i defenitely reccomend it, espeically if you are going to buy the OVA version. However, chek it out on tne internet on what it is about, but if you have some kind of bundle available for cheap, then i would defenetily buy, again I WOULD, so anways, do sm reasearch before you buy anything, but Kenshin is defenetily a highly acclaimed anime series, almost a classic

The only ones I've seen and enjoyed are;

-Gundam wing
-Akira

Try www.Animenation.com - a good and old site on anime, and it has a discussion forum I remember.

Yeah. I think that's a good deal for tha bundle. Only samurai X trust and betrayel are worth that much.
