i should be travelling to kyoto next september for a month or 2, and i want to have a new camera for the trip.

i'm just wondering if its worth buying it when i get there. i want a Canon EOS 350d ('EOS kiss N digital' in japan, Rebel XT in US). at the moment i can get one here for about ツ≫??40 (98,000 yen). ive checked some japanese sites such as amazon, and it says the same would cost 78,000 yen. thats damn near ツ≫??00 which to me is quite a bit. especially since the newer 400d costs about ツ≫??50, (i would rather get the better model if possible).

i have used these cameras before so dont need time to figure out how to use it. i have a photography degree. i am also going to take my pocket sized camera, and can last for a week or so with just that.

how much would these cameras be in a normal shop in kyoto/osaka? is it worth getting it in japan? bear in mind that i wont be purchasing it until next summer at the earliest. thanks.
