Country music will always be my first love when it comes to music, but heavy metal has a big place in my heart. I love everything from classic metal (ManoWar, Ozzy, AC/DC) to Power metal (Blind Guardian). Metal forever!

Great!! actually my favorite heavy metal band is MANOWAR!!! i just love those guys, saw them live in 2005 in germany with ross the boss and the whole gang..., Bling guardian are also awesome, i would like to recomend you som norwegian metal, check out Windir-Todezwalser.

I enjoy death metal such as Carcass, Arsis, Necrophagist.

Manowar used to be my favourite band, but somehow my preference shifted from heavy metal, and to tell the truth, I listened to Manowar all the time, so I got somewhat bored.

I'll stick with grind (not pornogrind though), Gorerotted, Nasum, Genghis Tron, The Berzerker, to name a few, and the other thing I like would be the folk and/or viking stuff, be it heavy metal with growled vocals or some genre of extreme metal. Some good examples would be Amon Amarth, Turisas, Waylander, Finntroll.

i would like to recomend you som norwegian metal, check out Windir-Todezwalser.

I'd say by far their best song is The Blacksmith and the Troll of Lundamyri. Can't beat that. Probably my favourite song overall.

I've been listening to a mix of classic metal and some newer stuff at work. One of my coworkers who is a bit of a know it all keeps calling it 'butt-rock.' It driver me crazy since the only metal that I can really think of calling that is the god awful 80's metal (ok there were some good ones during the 80's, but not many).

Anyone else have their metal insulted like that?

I think butt-rock is supposed to attach to the movements vocalists make, and that truly invites such a definition.
