bias against korean-americans?

I read somewhere that the team-teaching law in classrooms was designed to keep ethnic Koreans out of teaching positions in Japan - may or may not have been erroneous information.

It is widely said that being an foreigner of ethnic Asian descent is a disadvantage when applying for English teaching positions because parents want white English teachers etc. Is being ethnically Korean a further disadvantage? I am blessed with an English surname so I could pretend to be non-Korean if I have to. Just curious. Thanks.
 
Just count how many Korean teachers, not Korean Americans like you, are hired by public schools excluding college in your country.
And do you know the Korean schools here are demanding more subsidy from the govenment?

Just imagine the situation where the former USSR would have built a for-our-cute-leader-Stalin school in your country and have demanded money from the US. I think Japan has consideration even for the DPRK.

Anyways, it is an idea to take the teacher license course and pass the exam. You can get a teaching position without losing your US passport. It is not an advantate or disadvantage, but it is just highly competitive for Japanese/non-Japanese.

It seems like you have some prejudice towards Koreans.
I think every school demands more funding from government.
Not only Korean schools in Japan.

Besides, the analogy that you are using, clearly shows your anger towards Korean. I don't think it is fair to label Koreans as a bunch of red communist.
Let's face it, Japan committed some heavy attrocities throught out Asia, but more so in Korea.

So why are you so resentful of Koreans?
You owe every Korean an apology!
 
You quite obviously are totally ignorant of the situation you're criticizing her about. Otherwise you'd recognize that her analogy is spot-on. And notice that she specified the DPRK....not the ROK. They're different.
 
I presume Korean-American groups would claim "Observance of the national policy of the US". I don't hate Koreans or Korea. I just hope a bit consideration to add the words, "Observance of the national policy of Korea and Japan", like the one Japan does to them.
And if you're living in the US, don't you find nationalism is ridiculous after seeing flag buring Asians? In a way, it is their great international cooperation telling the insanity of nationalism to Japanese.
And yes, I am fully biased that many posters leave after a few posts.
 
I'm just amazed how he goes from "I'm not sure if I understand you" at the beginning to "You owe every Korean an apology!" at the end.

I trully believe that Japanise owe every Corean an apology.
Sure, many might wonder such as you, why push this issue to this day.
Why can't Koreans just let it go for once?

My response is how would you feel if someone broke in to your house, raped your wife and daughters (and sons), torture you for days or months, and steal everything you own?
Don't you think you want at leat an apology?

Just going out on a limb here, but I don't think pipokun is personally responsible, nor took part in, any of the atrocities inflicted on Korea. So he has no reason to apologize for any of it. Japan as a country got a pretty harsh talking to when they were out of control (cf. World War II, atomic bombings) and the majority of the people responsible were punished, so yeah, it is time that Koreans dropped their petty grudge.
 
Chung Daekyun, a Korean Japanese, harshly criticised his sister who stays her zainichi status and sued Tokyo Metropolitan govenement.
She claimed it was intolerable racial discrimination that Tokyo does not accept her in a managerial position.

Points to consider...
She can get a position in a public sector without renoucing her Korean nationality.
She can stay in her position even after she sued the govenement.
All she should do for the position is just to be naturalised here like her brother, Prof. Chung of Tokyo Metropolitan University.

Anyways, PandaBearDragon, you're American.
I highly doubt Nova or other eikaiwa schools should hire Koreans just for the apology. If you want better payment, just take the teacher's licence course and be an English/Japanese/science/math/history/music or whatever teacher in a public school here.

Neither can I. This is the most awesome letter I've ever read, because it is unbelievable evidence of abject trolling the likes of which have not been seen in the English-speaking world since Jonathan Swift penned A Modest Proposal.

Actually, I don't think this is a product of American education, it's a product of someone who basically has established himself as a troll (considering each thread he's started is basically an anti-Japanese-women rant). And he can't spell "Korean", even when it is splattered all over the forum with a "K" instead of a "C".

Huh? Are you kidding me? This goes on in Japan? And they demand subsidies from the Japanese government? I fail to see why the Japanese taxpayer needs to educate foreigners in their own foreign-run schools.

And it has nothing to do with World War II, by the way. That's a horrendously fallacious argument with so many holes in it I can't begin to describe.

As an aside, who is this PandaBear guy? This guy's been hitting these forums and not-too-subtly derails threads or creates his own anti-Japanese-women rant threads like our own little JRef Unibomber.
