Batman Begins !! ~

Ok, I went to see BB today and I was really impressed.It has more depth than the previous ones and the story was also good.One of the better movies I saw lately

Also Christian Bale put down some good acting work I rate the movie a 9/10 ! Some minor things that could've been better ;-)

What are your opinions?

Most of this movie is just dark, and the familiar trope of a high-flying passage through Gotham's bunched skyscrapers isn't as thrilling as it was years ago. The young Welsh-born actor Christian Bale is a serious fellow, but the most interesting thing about him—a glinting sense of superiority—gets erased by the dull earnestness of the screenplay, and the filmmakers haven't developed an adequate villain for him to go up against.
....
There's very little sense of Batman's awesome surveillance of the city from the heights; he just drops out of nowhere, thrashes all the bad guys in a whirl of movement that is shot too close, and edited too rapidly, for us to see much of anything, and then elevates out of the frame.....

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Comes out here on the 18th actually if memory serves. Judging from the trailer, it looks to be more in line with the original vision of the comic book char and not that over-kiddified high-gloss crap the last few movies have been... (oy vey).

i'm a little confused by it.... because i don;t think they've stuck to the original story of how he did becaome batman....
i don;t know, because i've only seen a trailer, and i'm a little foggy on the original details... but.... yeah...

plus i was kinda anoyed to see no James Marsters.....

the movie was amazing... i loved it. true, some of the fight scenes were caught to closely and you missed out on the actualy combat. but other than that the movie was sweet. bale was so hard ***, it was amazing.

i dont think there are perfect movies because everybody have a differnt taste.... but i do hear from a lot of people that it is the best of all batman movies

Great movie. I give it 3 1/2 stars of 4.

The Good
Christen Bale, the batmobile, Jim Gordon, punch lines, Morgon Freeman, Gotham city (Chicago!), the soundtrack.

The Bad
Ninjas, the Rachel

The Ugly
Fighting scenes, some cheesy lines.

Saw it earlier tonight and was mildly impressed. Much better than the franchise predecessors and Bale was convincing as the Bat. He definitely has the look when in suit and I am glad the story and overall execution were aimed at adults this time around. Thumbs up!

I gotta go see this film. Part of it was filmed at this place i was working at. I had no idea why there were trailers and big light rigs being set up till i saw a truck go past carrying two vans with the words 'SWAT Gotham police department' on the side of them.

No kidding? Awesome! Last summer I was in Chicago when they were filming some of it. It was kinda cool, they shut down the loop one night so they could film the scenes with the helicopter.

I would like to see it. There are so many versions of Batman, there's a bunch of several different cartoon shows of Batman. Now there's four or five actors that played Batman. Adam West was sqaure to me after seeing some of the old shows. Michael Keaton is still my favorite Batman actor, and I really didn't care much for Val Kilmar and Goerge Clooney.

I think I read somewhere that Bob Kane thought Val Kimar was the best actor to play the Batman. Too bad he didn't live to see Bale.

pluss my friends dragging me to see it any ways, so it's not like i have much of a choice ^^;

Well, it's designed to not do so ! Duhhh Look if u're gonna nitpick, that kind of weapon is SF on its own !! Think about it ;-)

Val Kilmer is quite good playing Bruce Wayne the playboy wonder.

You know, spending cash without a care in the world, chasing skirts, that sort of thing. Val Kilmer is quite good at playing Bruce Wayne like that. The scenes between Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson are also quite nice, n older kid with another kid.


Keaton playing Bruce Wayne look a little bit too eccentric.

Clooney playing Bruce Wayne seems look a little bit too old, he could have played Mr. Freeze instead.


As for Bale?

Hmmm...

Too serious looking?

He's not bad being as Bruce Wayne though. Better than Keaton and Clooney. There's no Dick Grayson in Batman Begins for comparison though.



As for Batman Begins.

Hmmm... It does look dark looking. But I don't think that it really captures the sense of the originial comic book, especially not with THAT tank/tractor/dragster thing. And also Alfred, it's Dick/Robin first, THEN later on Alfred show up. If they want to go originial, then they should have just use only Bruce/Wayne, no Alfred, Dick/Robin, etc.



As for Batman Begins aimed at adults.

Adults? Don't you mean a bunch of kids (whether they're in teens, 20's, 30's, etc) who think they're adults by being Obsessed of dark stuff?

As for aiming at adults, now THAT would be the 60's Batman T.V. series.

Personally, more adults probably prefer to watch on Liam Neeson's other movie that had him playing as a martial art and chi mentor, and oh yeah, also a biology teacher.

I was equally impressed with Batman Begins. After the previous two disasters, Hollywood got it right with this latest installment in the Bat-franchise. Everything clicked for me, the mood, the atmosphere, the story, the action, I enjoyed it immensely.

As for Christian Bale, I thought he hit a home run as Bruce Wayne/Batman. I'll say right here, right now that he's THE best actor to portray the Dark Knight. Michael Keaton was okay, but jeez, he was too damn short, even in the batsuit, Val Kilmer was too fratboyish for my liking and George Clooney just plain stunk.

Oh, and I loved the Tumbler (a.k.a. the Batmobile), I thought it was awesome. Michael Caine was great as Alfred, and it was equally neat to see Gary Oldman play a good guy for a change as Jim Gordon. I'll definitely add this movie to my collection when it comes out on DVD!

Well, it's always nice to have a hobby, and comic books are one of mine. As for Bat-fanatics, popular Japanese manga artist Kia Asamiya (Silent Mobius, Dark Angel) is also nuts for Batman!
