Audio Clip extracted from JP drama

I have a audio clip extracted from a japanese drama, I was trying to copy down what the girl is saying, here is my attempt:


合コンだっていったんするし、クリスマスや誕生日には 彼と一緒にいたいなんて そういうあきたいごく普通女のよ!

Can anybody help to correct it?

With the help of a japanese friend, I finally got the sentence correct:

合コンだって 行ったりもするし、 クリスマスや誕生日には 彼と一緒に居たいなって、そういう ごくありきたり普通の女なのよ

Nope, it was from "Pride" by Kimura Takuya

In ep#2, Kimura Takuya asked Takeuchi Yuko why did she "choose" him, that was her voice.

So, I've been listening to it for a bit this morning, and everytime it gets to the ありきたり part I can't seem to hear it correctly. To me it sounds like ありきたや.

So, how'd you get it? I'm guessing everyone else here heard it correctly too, because this hasn't come up yet (of course all the other people that posted are excellent with their Japanese, including you).

How am I hearing this? I even went as far as thinking it might've been ありきたりゃ, but Google laughs at me for that (But not for 在り来りは, which gets 14 hits). Well, any help with listening skills on this would be appreciated, even if it is you guys/gals just telling me you had no problem hearing り.

Aha! Actually you're quite right that there's a mistake in the transcription in that area.

It should be ありきたりな普通

And if you look at the definition of ありきたり it's as a _na_ adjective.

But in the end, I still didn't hear it correctly. It's amazing how the り and な run together so fluidy. Do you think she might have pronounced it ありきたんな? That's probably a stretch.

Well, this thread has become very interesting to me, so I pose another question: Why do you think she opted to use ありきたりな普通の女 instead of ありきたりな女? Do you think it puts emphasis on the ordinariness* of herself?

"I'm just an ordinary girl."
ありきたりな普通の女だ
"I'm just your everyday, run-of-the-mill girl."

yes, actually i also heard there is a "NA" after ありきたり, my guess is ....
she speaks so quickly(because Kimura was angry, and was running away, she was shouting at the back), so the sound was like some kind of "taking a breath" after speaking such a long sentence(in the drama, she actually speaks much longer than the extracted audio clip).

I wasn't able to listen the sentence myself, my japanese friend helped to write it down for me, too bad I didnt asked her what about the "NA" after the ありきたり

Yeah, but she _isn't_ addressing him at that point. Note the って.

For Christmas and birthdays, "Wouldn't it be nice to be with my boyfriend," that's the sort of everyday, normal woman [I am]!

彼 as Boyfriend makes perfect sense....I've only used 彼氏 myself, though, so is it pretty common to hear "Watashi no kare" or "Watashi ni wa kare ga imasu" (?)

As you might expect it's EDICT'ed
彼 【かれ】 he; boyfriend; (P)

so is it pretty common to hear "Watashi no kare" or "Watashi ni wa kare ga imasu" (?)
