Early today I've happened to come across these lectures about astronomy. I usually listen to random music during work, but I tried one of these lectures and I become hooked! The orator is great, really giving his hearth into this. I know I could hear this for hours.

I love astronomy as a subject. My father got me hooked on it when I was about 9 or 10 years old and I have stayed hooked. I have a few (ahem) books on the subject. It is amazing comparing the books I had when I was 10 to the books I have now on what has changed in the last 30 odd years.

It is a subject that I am interested in, yes, but have done little looking into. I'll be sure to listen to those links when I get a little time to sit back with some warm coffee, on some easy going morning. Thanks for sharing those.

Astronomy is a topic you can get into both professionally and/or as a amateur. The hobby of amateur astronomy is very popular in Canada, Japan and the United States.

I have been into it since 1969, and became a professional telescope operator in 2002.
