A pension question...
Background, I'm a long-timer, got about 6 years to go till 65, at which time I'll have 29 years officially logged in. (Actually, because of my DOB, my vesting threshold was 20 years.) So far, so good.
However, I do have some social security credits in the US, not many, but some. As I've read here and elsewhere in many different forum posts, as of 2005 the US and Japan 'cross-recognize' contributions in the other country. So, (my question) tho my SS credits pre-date 2005 by decades, is it possible to have them apply towards my pension here? I've always been on the ﾅｽ窶樞?板ｧﾅ?wﾂ校窶ｹﾂ､ﾂ催鞘?枠ﾂ坂?｡ system, would SS credits be applied to the public component of that?
