This is similiar to the thread already on the board about body image, but i've heard in random places that the Japanese like blonde haired - blue eyed females. Is that true? Any one know why its true if it is? ☝

IMO it is because of one fairly basic reason. Japanese people generally speaking, all have black hair and a true blonde is not often seen among the Japanese population. It is the "difference" in appearance that many find attractive.

To be different, in one's appearance, particularly amongst the younger generation is popular. Just like younger people in many countries throughout the world.
 
So in general would the Japanese react diffrent to some american with blonde hair blue eyes than just a normal brown haired american?

I wouldn't know how to respond to that directly as I am not Japanese, but I will say that I just asked this question to a Japanese friend sitting next to me and she responded that without talking to the person or getting to know them that she would not react differently to that person purely based on appearance.

I also asked her to make a comparison of 3 different types of people, facial features the same, size, build also the same, just hair and eye color being different, would her reaction change at all? She replied with the same comment from your question here.
