Hey guys, I know that this sounds kinda desperate, or weird. I know I am one of the many people just starting to learn Japanese. With my Hiragana and first 10-15 Katakana out of the way, I was wondering if anyone would want to be a "study buddy"? Or someone who is really good at Japanese anyway. But if you are someone who is new like me, maybe we could email each other different Kana and Kanji, and then quiz each other. I thought that would be cool to do that from email to email.

Too busy to do that here, but VERY GOOD IDEA FOR STUDY. I'd recommend someone around the same level of course, as you can't really expect a consistant personal tutor for free.

Keep up the hard work Bama. It looks like you've already made a good amount of progress.

I'd love to be, or have a study buddy. Best if it is a person at around the same level as you. The problem is that people can learn at different paces, and using different materials. For instance I am learning through Pimsleur for verbal and some structures. I haven't had the time to concentrate on my Hiragana as I'd like to so I'm behind on that. Someone learning verbal through Linguaphone may have a totally different basis of the language to me despite having been studying the same length of time due to course differences.

However I think the idea is sound. Maybe if we could somehow set up a list of people willing to communicate with others and help back and forwards along with knowledge levels it would help. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I know PAULTB and them have another project. But could we do something to keep people up on their Japanese with study buddies??? This might be something the moderators have to do! So..... Let's wait and see.....
