Anyone take JLPT yesterday?
How did you find the new N format?
I used a mondaishuu beforehand so I had an idea of what to expect but it was still very interesting to see some of the changes they'd made.
I thought the sentence order questions were interesting, where you had to find the ﾂ?｡ part after putting the words in order. I felt to succeed at those you'd really have to be reading a lot and developing your own 'sense' of what is correct. Of course, dissecting it grammatically and going by logic could also work.
The reading section was also very long! I think there was more reading material than previous JLPT's but I could be wrong.
I also thought the one-liner + response listening section was interesting, where someone says something short and you have to pick the most natural response out of the 3 choices.
I was surprised however that the new integrated reading/listening was made so easy though. By easy I mean that they gave you a long time to read the answer choices. I would have thought that they'd just do them one after the other and make you read the answers while listening, similar to the BJT or similar to the old JLPT picture/conversation format, thus making it more integrated, but you had like 20 seconds to read the answers before the conversation started.
