Another Visa Question

So for those who have sponsored wives to come to the US. You had to fill out an Affidavit of Support correct?

Well Rieko got her Visa Packet and it looks like we are at the final stretch before the interview.

What info did you submit. I have already been told what is needed but was there anything extra you can think of?
They ask for personal items that have value, I was thinking like my car, TV's, Some Chinese bonds I purchased.

Just trying to get a good idea of what extra stuff I can include to help the process.

Are you in the states now? I must say, getting the visa in Japan was a joke. I only went to the Embassy once, and I didn't even have to then. I showed them my last 3 years of tax returns and that was it. No interview.

I would assume you would include:
-Liquid assets (your bonds, any mutual funds, and of course, savings)
-Not so liquid assets (car, as you've stated)

Probably not a good time to bring up any lingering college loans or credit card debt.

When I applied for my visa, my husband was still a college student and couldn't submit much of his own posessions, so what we did was to ask his dad to send a photocopy of his mutual funds, bank account statement, property bond and a handwritten letter of his support with our life in the US.

They worked fine.

Yes I am still in the US.
There is no financial required amount noted:
Bank statement
Photocopy of my Chinese bonds?
401k Documents
they ask about life insurance, should I submit some forms for that too?

I know you guys are not the Immigration service but those who have been through the process before i value thier opinions.
