Oshiage Station, part of the Asakusa Line, became the last station among Toei Subway's 106 stations to have platform doors installed. The operation of these installations is managed by QR-code scanners that interact with the trains. This advanced system ensures the smooth opening and closing of the barriers. The entire installation cost approximately USD 18,000. An alternative approach would have involved using sensors and control devices, but this option would have incurred a significantly higher cost of over USD 13 million. The subway system prioritizes safety while maintaining cost-effectiveness by opting for QR-code-controlled platform doors.
