All The moderators should be Japanese

Isn't it strange a forum discussing about Japan were operated by non Japanese?

Yes, it's very odd indeed.

I have the same irritation with the forum discussing robots I belong to - none of the mods or admins there are robots, or even cyborgs!! And please don't get me started on the gardening forum I visit where none of the moderators are vegetables!!

If you make a forum discussing robot then it will be strange if you don't know anything about the robot.

If that is your point then this thread is pointless, because many of the mods here have vast experience of Japan, understand the culture, people and language deeply, and many of them are living there now.

Perhaps you should ask a mod to change this thread title to 'all the moderators here should know about Japan'?

Or maybe this thread should be closed because, in fact, they do!

Since there is no robot out there who can work like a human such as making a forum then to make a forum discussing robot you need to know about robot.

Not only strange this forum discussing Japanese but the mod not Japanese, it will also offending the Japanese themselves if this forum claim to be a Japanese forum while it is not operated by Japanese. There is one way to solve this, just make announcement that this forum made by non Japanese peoples who interested on Japan.

Don't pretent to be part of something when you are not part of it, it may hurt those who you try to be part of

Mos I am in total agreement with you my friend, this thread should be closed.
D.B if you are reading this, I humbly ask that this thread be closed please.

Naturally! But I think my analogy stands. None of the Japanese members here are interested in becoming moderators so far, it seems. In fact, they appear generally happy with the way the site is moderated (as are we all), and find Jref very valuable in whatever way. Though you choose to ignore them, some of them have said so in this very thread!

It's a Japanese forum in that it's about Japan (and in English, mostly!) It's not Japanese in the sense that it belongs to Japan, or to Japanese, merely to those with a deep interest and feeling for Japan and the wonderful members here (and likewise!) of whatever nationality. To me, that is this community's very greatest strength, and what draws me here.

There is one way to solve this, just make announcement that this forum made by non Japanese peoples who interested on Japan.

As far as I'm aware, most members here understand that already. Imo, it's pretty clear as soon as you try to sign up, or spend a few minutes browsing and reading here. Maybe you need to look round the forum a bit more before you start posting these sorts of topics? If you're looking for an pan-Asian nationalism site, I can tell you now you're in the wrong place.

There are some true Japanese in this forum who give reply? can you tell me their name?
Your analogy not stands since if there is no Japanese who want to be this forum moderator then this forum have to make announcement that this forum made by non Japanese peoples who have interest on Japan.

If you call yourself a Japanese then in the sense you belong to Japan, that is the same with this forum name Japan reference wether you make any other excuse.

Are you sure most new member or new guest who visit this forum know that this forum or the website made by non Japanese?
I think not since how will they know when they don't even informed that the ne who the website and this forum are non Japanese. They will be fooled with the Japanese reference of the website and forum name.

The real question is, will they care. And for that matter, what difference does it make?

If you were to do some research here, you'll find that this information is available !!! You should learn to do better research !! Self-education is a good thing !!!

MM I totally agree with you, self-education is a good thing. Btw i look forward to the sun setting over the islands of Japan :)

Can we ban this one-trick pony dancing a one-note samba already?

Mike Cash I have just rung my bookie friend on the Sunset strip in Las Vegas and he has just offered me odds of 10-1 against the post count reaching 50 posts. In the best possible taste I have just placed £10 pounds Sterling as a bet, just waiting for my winnings to arrive :)

How do you plan on using the money?:-)
