I know she is not Japanese (she's Chinese), but she does sing in Japanese and has released at least one album in Japanese.
I really like her music; she plays with traditional sounds as well as poppy music, combining them very well.
Any other Alan fans out there?
I tried to post some links to her songs, but I don't have enough posts yet for that.

She has a beautiful voice. Thanks for bringing her to our attention.

One of her songs, River to Eternity, reached no. 3 on Japan's Oricon Chart. It's the ending theme song of the movie, Red Cliff 2.

Alan has another hit Japanese song that's been on the Oricon chart for awhile, but I'm not sure that I like it. So I'm just posting a link rather than embedding the vid.

This is a late recommendation, but better late than never. Alan released another single last Oct. called Kanashimi ha Yuki ni Nemuru. Check it out on youtube. Recommended!
