AIM again....

Hey guys I can type Japanese on here, but when I try to type Japanese on AIM how come it doesn't work?? Isn't there a special font or something you are suppopsed to use?? It did before I restored my comp but now it's not working....

Isn't there an IME for XP without Office?? I know there is because before I restored my computer, I dlled one. Somethings I can't read in Japanese. I was installing the Japanese AIM and I couldn't see anything. It was all "?"s....... Any advice??

BTW I have did the control panel instal east asian fonts and added it....

Use MSN Messenger. Japanese actually works on it without doing anything...
Many people have this issue of trying to get Japanese to work on AIM. Search the forums and see if there's a solution.

You'd either have to use a Japanese version of AIM or a third-party chat program like GAIM to chat in Japanese on AIM. As far as I know, the English version of AIM only supports chat in the good ole Roman alphabet. ICQ, Yahoo Messeger and MSN Messenger support Japanese out-of-the box, as far as I know.
