Void, they are very cool pictures! I like them a lot.
I could never take good pictures of the moon. Did you use your Powershot for them?

These are shots from this year's my first hiking trip I took yesterday. Those mountains were absolutely beautiful with snow.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but weren't you guys cold? Maybe it's just my perception, living in a tropical clime, but that girl in black didn't look wrapped up very well... with all that snow... I would have been an unrecognizable ball of fur, scarves, mittens and whatnot...

Thanks anjusan! We weren't cold at all. It was a gorgeous sunny spring day, about 45~50F when we climbed. The snow on top of the mountains kind of makes it look cold, but I usually get hot when I hike, especially ascending.

That girl in black is me, and I was only wearing a shirt that's underneath until we got to the top. That's how much synthetic material(like polyester or nylon) can keep you warm. 👍

I took those pics through floppy disk, 'cause didn`t have any filters at hand (and it would be siucidal to shot directly against the sun, i used digital zoom.
i have a picture of a full moon somewhere, will post later when i`ll find it.
But, of course it`s small. Powershot lenses are not suitable for good shots of such distant objects
 
Several things to like and dislike

...about weather

Winter
According to the calendar it started 6 days ago. But our winter doesn`t give
a damn to any calendar. So it came and made itself comfortable about 2 months ago, disregarding slobbery autumn attempts to claim its right to stay.

what is good about winter?
first of all, it covers the mud fall left behind, and gloomy grey turns into sparkling white. It`s nice to stroll listening to the crunching show.

second, it brings fresh cool air, it feels absolutely great when you walk home at the evening heated after training, it is dark and calmingly quiet (if i am allowed to say so). And if at this moment snow softly whitens hat and coat it makes the world to seem even more illusory, leaving rush of life hundreds of light-year away, nothing is important anymore - just rhythmic pace, black skies and tiny snowflakes.

it brings its own beauty with it. From time to time trees try on white
dressings, birch trees are gracefully elegant, old pines looks more "homely"
and yet even more distant, and little cedars in their fluffy coats remind kids in fur caps

as if excusing itsef for such early visit, winter already presented us several days with clear sky and bright rainbow around the sun

what is also good about our winter - it is somewhat invariable, we know what to expect, unlike many other regions which all of a sudden find
themselves buried under hundreds of tons of snow

and many more...

but there also some things i`d gladly leave to someone else.
Strong, cutting wind which turns even relatively warm day into "disaster",
leaving only one wish - to get home fast

Long weeks of cloudy skies, drowsy, colourless and depressing

Duration... it last and lasts, once again disregarding the calender, finally
doing a favor by the end of april, leaving its snowing steps in a forest till
the middle of may. When all the mind and body desperatly longs for some
greens, when tiny leaf and timid strokes of grass are dearly welcomed...

it comes and leaves, and if to be more optimistic, - man, even if it stays
below -30C for weeks at least we don`t have a polar night =)))))
