even if he's no longer TMR he's still good. the song howling sounds easy to play on guitar im gonna try to plat it. this version of zips is so awesome i never ever herd it before

TMR is T.M.Revolution which means Takanori Makes Revolution which is the solo project of Abingdon Boys School lead singer Takanori Nishikawa

TMR was around for like ten years before he started ABS

Oooooh so that's what it is. Never heard any of his music but once I saw a picture of him dressed up as a woman. He looked so beautiful!:D

i kinda describe TMR as "J-tecno pop rock" it's got a bit of rock, pop, and tecno/dance music all combined into one
 
BIG NEWS!

abingdon boys school have announced the release of their first album. Currently untitled, the album is set to go on sale on October 10th and will contain the band's first three singles and two tracks previously recorded for other releases: stay away, from a NANA image album, and Dress from a BUCK-TICK tribute album. A limited edition of the CD will include a bonus DVD containing three music videos and be housed in a special box, while the first press of the regular edition will include a photo booklet.

man I cant wait for this!!!
 
just found out the album will have 12 total songs, so it'll be five formerly released songs and 7 new songs

They have like 8 songs out right? I wonder if they are all gonna be on the album.
 
as far as I know, the b-sides of the three singles wont be on it, just the title tracks plus dress and stay away, I certainly hope all 8 wouldn't be on it, that'd only give us 4 new songs, the majority of an album needs to be new songs so I'm guessing like I said it'll be the 5 former songs and 7 new songs
 
@NDK: Woah. I agree with Revenge. U do know a lot about Jrock! woah....eat,sleep, breathe jrock? hehe.

The first song I heard fr abs was Nephilim. I was expecting the begining to be very rockish, thn turned out to be the melodic piano playing. The band...caught my attention. hahas. their music is nice! And I must say, these near 40 yr old dudes sure can rock. Can't imagine they are almost e same age as my father. -.-!
 
yeah Takanori is getting up there in age, he's 36 =] But Hyde of L'arc-en-ciel is like 38 lol so clearly somehow jrockers have found the fountain of youth cause I dont know anybody that old that looks that good lmao.

I guess when I find something I love, I dive into it head first and get to know everything I can about it, and when it comes to j-rock, it's at the top of my list!
 
hahas. me too. I go straight to wiki theppn for jrock. HAHAHAs. Wish exams were on jrock instead. I would have scored straight As.
 
I just listened to nervous breakdown. Takanori's english is good! Has he learnt english before? Japanese singers often can't pronounce english well...like Shou. No offence, I like alice nine's music. But listening to stray cat, I could'nt make out the words till I saw the lyrics. lol. But there are of cuz Jrockers who are proficient in english. Like yoshiki...he's very good!
 
I was going to wait until the album is out before posting on here, but October is just too far away...

I admit, I heard of them before I started listening to them and I didn't want to look them up because their name made them sound...well, like a busted/McFly-esque band. Or at the very least, an An Cafe clone (cute-sy, etc.). But when I got bored I looked them up and...wow. It's like reading a horror story with a flower-y cover.

I know it's not their own song, but I adore Dress and can't stop listening to it. I've been reading Pet Shop of Horrors and it sounds like the kind of song (musically) that would be on a soundtrack to it.
 
@FrostPixie: WHen i saw their band name, I thought they would be cute-sy like An cafe too! Haha. Then I saw their photos ....I was like what? Some old man trying to rock? hAHA. But after recommendation fr my fren, (she watches D-grey man or smth lidat, the anime which played ABS' song), I think the vocals and the music are superb!

P.S I rmb busted! tt was long ago. too bad they died. hahas
 
I knew about Takanori from his TMR days and I always thought he was a very talented singer, I remember first hearing about ABS wondering what Takanori would be like in a rock band, but I gave them a chance and bought the Innocent Sorrow single and it freakin rocked! I was sold on Abingdon Boys School ever since. And they've only continued to get better and better since! Each new release that they've come out with has showed more and more talent.
 
**** me these are guys are GOOD. Would love to go to a concert of theirs. I liked the name, only heard of them through Live Earth.

i tried searching for their Live Earth performance but there was none. A lot of Linkin Park though....hahas. Anyone has the links to ABS performance at Live Earth??
