3.142 to 3 dp. But Lastmagi is right - pi is an irrational number.

The world record computation on the number e has been broken by Shigeru Kondo (the home computer record is the world record). Shigeru Kondo used a beta version of PiFast44 and computed 50,100,000,000 decimal digits. The computation, ended on September 04 2003, was done in 11 days and 1 hour on a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz, 2 Go of physical memory. 167 GB of disk space was needed.


Speaking of e, I find it cool that e^(pi*i)=-1 (aka euler's formula). You've got two numbers with decimal places that goes on forever and a number that isn't even a number, along with 1 and 0, and you've got a nice clean formula!

oooo the possibilities. Here's another clean one.
[e^(iニ津纂/i])] + 1 = 0
 
Will Riemann's Hypothesis be solved in our lifetime? Has anyone watched Numb3rs? There was a story on it the other day where some hackers were trying to get this guy who thought he had solved Riemann's to distill it into an algorithm, which they could then use to break internet security. But I think even if someone does solve it, it will still be a long way from making an algorithm.
