YouTube.webp WOW ! I learned something new today. When I got the "unavailable" notice I was bummed I couldn't see it. I never realized if you click on "Watch on YouTube" you could watch it.
 
Japan already had five seasons. Traditionally there was also 梅雨 (rainy season).
 
This September in Kyushu , we have had a lot of rain and the temperatures have begun to drop. The large meander of the Kuroshio Current in the Pacific has also come to an end, and I am curious about how Japan's climate may change in the future.

Like Britain, Japan is an island country but our prevailing wind comes off the Atlantic making the air moist and our weather prone to precipitation. As climate change continues and the air warms, it'll be able to carry more moisture and our country will become increasingly wet.

I predict Japan will also get wetter but unlike Britain, it will become really, really hot. Kyushu, like southern Europe, may become unbearable, possibly uninhabitable, in the next 50-100 years.
 
Tonight it's cool at 22°C, so unlike last month, there's no need to keep the air conditioner running all day. Last month's electricity bill for both the main house and the annex was around 24,000 yen. Converted to dollars, that's about $162. If it stays this cool, it looks like we'll be able to save on electricity.
