Okay sooo I was looking on Weblio to see how to say something like "I have been doing Verb for X amount of time."
So now I just need a bit of insight on it. I read that 間 means "period of time" right?
And it's a noun, ad it is a suffix.
So here's the translation from Weblio:
私は日本語を５年間勉強している。
I have been studying Japanese for 5 years.
So say I wanted to say, "I have been walking for 3 hours." Do I simply add the 間 at the end of the length of time plus the verb?
Length of Time + 間 + Verb
1)I have been walking for 3 hours. 2)She studied in Japan for 4 years.
私は３時間歩いています。 彼女は日本で四年間勉強しました。
3)I haven't eaten in/for 5 days.
私は五日間食事をしませんでした。 Or would this be 私は五日間には食事をしませんでした。
I think that the Kan in those sentences sound kind of weird being in there, but I don't know.
