間 わず ?

I have yet another question(s) regarding the Japanese language. :roflmao:
I'm studying this kanji book and during the course of explaining one kanji, it gives a sentence to try to explain the meaning of the 間 kanji. Here is the sentence:
時と所を間わず
toki to tokoro o towazu.
"Not querying. Regardless of time and space."
The book says that 間 is suppose to mean, "to ask about, question." The online dictionaries say something to the effect of, interval, space, period of time, between, among. I'm a little confused how the book came to that meaning, as
時 is hour, or time. (toki)
と conjunction, "and" (to)
所 means place. (sho or toko)
を particle indicating direct object.

間 not sure on meaning ... two out of three says, space or period of time.
わず not quite sure what this means. Maybe another particle.
So I am still kind of lost on the meaning of 間 and the sentence as well.
Unless it is saying. Like,
石の上に三年

Ｉ ｔｈｉｎｋ ｔｈｅ ｋａｎｊｉ ｉｓ ｂｅｉｎｇ ｍｉｓｔａｋｅｎ ｈｅｒｅ．
Ａｌｔｈｏｕｇｈ ｔｈｅｙ ａｒｅ ｓｉｍｉｌａｒ．
間 (あいだ） is time space interval
問（とい）問う（とう）問わず（とわず） is questioning.

I went back to check the sentence and I found that the above and bottom entries have similar looking kanji. It is actually,

時と所を問わず

and not

時と所を間わず

Thank you for pointing that out.

I must have made an error in copying. So it makes more sense now, but the meaning 時と所を問わず is still a bit fuzzy to me. What is わず in relation to 時と所を問わず?

問わ; the pre-nai form of the verb 問う
ず; an archaic auxiliary verb to negate verbs

It's same as 問わない/問わないで.

as Toritoribe said, 「ず」 takes the place of 「ないで」 as in 何も食べないで家を出た (left home without eating anything). It's more of a literary expression.

the term XXを問わず。。。 is a phrase that means "without regards to" so 年齢を問わず means "doesn't matter what age you are."
