Hello! Here I will be known as Pandora, and I have been teaching myself Japanese for a little over a year now. Sadly, I have very little to show for it. I can memorize and retain words easily, but I have serious trouble with my grammar.
I often don't understand when to use which of the seven bases of a verb, I get my particles confused, on occasion I mess up the order of nouns in a complex sentence, and I do not know any kanji symbols that are not hiragana or katakana. :? There is probably more I cannot recall, but I usually know my words....I just can't convey them in a decent manner. lol! However, I can properly say simple phrases and questions, but I can't really carry a decent conversation. I stumbled upon this forum and decided to join in order to help with my Japanese grammar. I have always wanted to learn Japanese as a child and since my fiance is now stationed in Okinawa (he's a Marine) and will be there for the next two years (possibly four if he chooses to finish his contract out there), I finally had a practical reason to motivate me to learn!
