浜 or 海岸

Which would be better when talking about beaches?

私の町は多くの浜がある。
私の町は多くの海岸がある。

I don't think 海岸 is countable like that. And it really refers to a coast or coastline, not necessarily a beach.

I would use ビーチ

People here say 海に行く rather than <beach>に行く, by the way.

海岸 would be more close to coast/seashore rather than beach.
渚 might be used also for a large lake, but ビーチ is usually not.
浜 is almost the same as 砂浜.

I think I'll take into account this quote from とりとりべさん: ' ビーチ and 渚 are close in meaning' and use 渚. I really don't like using adapted foreign words.

Also, the lyrics 渚のバルコニ－ are pretty catchy, so it's easy to remember
