旅行をしたり、店で食事をしたりお酒を飲んだりすると、使ったお金の一部を政府が出します。
When traveling, eating meals at restaurants, or drinking sake, the government will give you part of the money you use to spend. - what I think it means. The sentence is in the context of the government trying to help reinvigorate the economy.
at first, I translated 使ったお金の一部を政府が出します as "the government takes out part of the money you use to spend." But in context, it doesn't make sense.
I looked up "金を出す" and in many cases, it translated to "to give money"
but 出す would mean "to take out" like ごみを出す meaning to take out the garbage
Why does the 出す used in 使ったお金の一部を政府が出します and 金を出す mean "give" instead of "take out"?
Is my translation of 出す to "give" wrong in the first sentence?
