Hi,


1. 図書館があまりに大きいのも問題だった。

Is の nominalising the whole of 図書館があまりに大きい, or is 大きいの a noun phrase meaning (roughly) "large one"?


2. ハーマイオニーは調べる予定の内容と表題のリストを取り出し・・・

This has given me some trouble. My guess is that it is supposed to be understood as

[ 調べる予定 ] の [ 内容と表題 ] の リスト

Is that right? Is the bracketing of this phrase ambiguous? Are there other possibilities?

Thanks but in (1) which interpretation do you mean is correct?

The former one is correct. の is a nominalizer. こと can be also used here.

2)
Your interpretation is most common (and would be correct), but [調べる予定の内容]と[表題のリスト] is also possible depending on the context, so, yeah, it's ambiguous.
