Hello everyone, I think an introduction is needed!
My name is Kai. I'm Taiwanese-American and currently a freshman in Uni. I like to study, read, and discuss/debate politics, economics, and finance. Why am I interested in Japanese and Japan in general? Well, two reasons: my best friend, since childhood, is Japanese and I see him as a brother, and my family has great respect for Japan and the Japanese people! My knowledge of Japanese, at this moment, is from attempts to speak Japanese to my friend's parents or phrases from Yakuza movies!
My university doesn't offer Japanese, so I'm currently self studying. Quite honestly, I enjoy self studying because I love the challenge, the personal pace, and the feeling of correcting past knowledge of what I know about the Japanese language. Personal goals of mine are to graduate university (within the top ten
), become an accountant, and...work in Japan, lol. (My friend and I like to joke about being neighbors for the rest of our lives!
I've been studying Japanese for about one month, but I hope that one day, my knowledge of the language can grow to be fluent! I hope we can all get along and help each other expand our knowledge and share great experiences with one another!
Best regards,
Kai
