Easier Japanese Practice

I have learnt と conditional form is mainly used in the following sentences or any situations always happen in the same circumstances.
  1. Nature-related Fact
  2. Use of Machine
  3. Give Direction
The と in the above sentence seems to refer to a one-off case or simply a few times only. Could you please point out to me what I have missed. Thanks!

The link you provided is for the newest news. Here's the correct link for the one you are referring to.

と is used to describe a past real event objectively whether it's a one-off event or habitual action. This と is often used in narrative parts of novels.
e.g.
国境の長いトンネルを抜けると雪国であった。
手探りで扉を開けると、縁側があった。
家に着くと、父も、母も、ちっともふだんと変らない様子で、いかにも何事もなさそうに私を迎えた。

Can I say this と is not in conditional form but it simply plainly refers to a set of circumstances? It's quite like とき in usage, isn't it? Thanks Toritoribe-san.
