This kanji - Does anyone know what it stands for? My poor little Kanji-a-Day dictionary doesn't even recognize it. Is it that modern and new?

That is not a kanji.😌 I believe a symbol like that is often used in Japanese to draw the attention of the reader to a note.

*Ooooooooh*~!! So it's like a Japanese bullet or asterisk? I got it! Thank you!!

JFYI, it is called "kome-jirushi" because it looks like the kanji for rice, 米

:)

Aurura> Where did you actually run across that mark to make you think it was kanji? I cant recall ever seeing it in a sentence. I have seen the bullet mark that usually separates foreign first and last names in katakana.. but never that thing.

I can make it too! ※ - see? Though it took me some pounding of my keyboard and I have an english keyboard.
