Take two: We were very tempted to give it five stars this time! It has an aromatic nose with lactic elements and pronounced hints of cereal and rice. Earthy tones and an intense approach with a deep layer of brown sugar, rich and full body, viscous texture; rich and deep, just marginal acidity stemming against the overwhelming grainy sweetness, no bitterness present, with a long finish and a hint of spiciness. Those who are into deep, rich, full-bodied, and intense sake will love Horai's limited edition genshu!

This sake presents an intense aroma of ripe fruit. Its grandiose entry boasts a medium to heavy body, well-rounded and harmonious. The palate reveals a delightful sweetness and abundant umami, beautifully balanced by subtle tonic bitterness and a touch of acidity. The finish is short and mellow, leaving an unpretentious yet convincing impression.
