EH Sake Brewery, nestled in the picturesque Azumino region, carries forward the esteemed "Suien" (酔園) brand—a legacy steeped in 200 years of brewing tradition. The roots of Suien trace back to two venerable sake breweries: Kameya Shuzōten (亀屋酒造店, founded in 1810) and Mutai Shuzōten (務台酒造店, established in 1870). In a harmonious union, these historic establishments merged in 1961 to create the foundation for Suien.

EH Brewery, a division of the ExcelHuman Group, oversees a diverse portfolio of domestic and international ventures. Their commitment to quality and heritage continues to flourish, making EH Sake Brewery a cherished destination for sake enthusiasts and connoisseurs.

This was part of a jizake set we ordered from Belluna Gourmet.

It has a delicate and mellow bouquet, intertwining the essence of koji and a whisper of alcohol—the initial sip glides in with a smooth and creamy texture, revealing subtle hints of dried fruits. It is neither too heavy nor too light. The medium-dry profile dances harmoniously with lively acidity. As the journey concludes, a gentle bitterness emerges, akin to a refreshing herbal note. The exit is mild, leaving a lingering memory.

This sake is a great companion for authentic Japanese cuisine. Its mild temperament complements sushi, sashimi, and tempura flawlessly. We recommend enjoying it at room temperature, allowing its nuanced flavours to unfold.
