Miyanoyuki Junmai, crafted by Miyazaki Honten, was one of the local sake served at the Ise-Shima Summit in 2016. This sake, discovered at a local supermarket, vanished from the shelves with remarkable speed.

Miyanoyuki is a Junmai sake, which means it's made purely from rice without any added alcohol. When served chilled, the first encounter with Miyanoyuki reveals an intense floral aroma. It balances sweetness, refreshing acidity, and an intense bitterness that adds complexity to each sip. For the second round, we heated it. The transformation was remarkable. The spicy notes intensified, yet the texture became smoother and creamier. The true character emerged, reminiscent of Glühwein (mulled wine)—grapes and resin. In summary, Miyanoyuki Junmai dances between boldness and elegance, leaving a lingering impression. Go for warm; it's a journey worth savouring.
