Hi ruby and Toritoribe,
it is nice to see how a person can ask for calligraphy and get the answer.
Since I am a hardcore fan of Lao Zi, it will be beneficial for me to learn how widespread is his teaching in Japan and Israel. Mostly I am interested in your top native translations retranslated into English.
I buy all English translations which I see and like, so far I stacked some 65 books. Yesterday I bought a very good new translation made by Scott Wilson (he is real deal for sure, his Hagakure, Musashi and Takuan translations speak loudly), my word though is for one superb calligraphy given in his Tao Te Ching book showing the original script (The Great Seal) used at Lao Zi times, not the one after the unification of China in 221 BC. It is brushed by the artist and calligrapher Shogo Kuroda. I like very much the looseness and the sharpness of his technique. I photographed the sample and it is interesting what the gliphs say.
