This ukiyo-e print by Katsukawa Shunshō depicts a sumo match held at Ekōin Temple, featuring famous wrestlers from the Kansei era. The artwork portrays Tanigawa Kajinosuke and Onogawa Kisaburō, who were instrumental in the golden age of sumo during the Tenmei and Kansei eras. Tanikaze Kajinosuke, in particular, was a popular figure known for his gentle appearance and skill.
