Rakuraku-en (楽々園)
Part of the former villa complex of the Ii clan, Rakuraku-en stands beside Genkyū-en Garden (玄宮園) on the northern side of Hikone Castle. Built in the shoin-zukuri (書院造) style, the residence was used for receiving guests and enjoying views of the garden. Together, Rakuraku-en and Genkyū-en form one of the finest surviving daimyo villa and garden complexes of the Edo period.
