I got to admit, I'm only coming up with Shinkansen schedules and that is some I don't want. Looking for something to depart Shimonseki and go down to Miyazaki or Kumamoto.

Thanks

English would be better for me
also an application for android would be cool

I always use the HyperDia site, which does English and is user-friendly.

OK, does it give local trains? Currently not interested in Shinkansen, but that may change, depending on the cost from where I decide to aboard the train.
Again, thanks.

You're planning a trip!?!!?

Given what you have posted about the coronavirus here, I would never have guessed.

If things improve a lot, I intend to get to Miyazaki in June to do some cycling. Was planing on going to Okinawa, but a long ferry ride might not be a good idea, at least not at yet.

Not sure if you noticed, probably you did, but there is are Android and iOS Apps for HyperDia. I have not used them but just noticed them on the website.

I wanted to recommend

but I am very impressed by HyperDia. Thanks for sharing!

@musicisgood I hope you will update your journal. :)

Will do. Should have lots of time today. Rainy weather today.

I ended up using google a lot, usually because if I don't already know the trains I'm traveling between map points and not just station to station, and Google offers alternative routes, whereas the schedule apps seemed pretty locked in to whatever stations you enter.

Thanks.
I found a map with the train locations now, that's going to be helpful.

Due to the corona virus, apparently many train schedules do not match Hyper Dia and they are not updating their apps. May not even be in use. I'll keep searching I guess.

Yahoo is pretty straightforward although not in English.
