Not snowing here, but all the stores are playing Christmas songs. Going shopping soon for the Christmas cake.

Here's a picture of our Christmas tree.

Very nice, looks almost real! :giggle:

Enjoy your Christmas sake.

PS: I have merged our Xmas threads into one.

Thanks. I did buy a few of them little cup sakes. Used to like sake, but I think as we get older sake takes on a negative effect, like dehydration. Anyway, hope everyone here enjoyed their Christmas . Yes, we bought the tradition Japanese Christmas cake. A whopping 3400 yen for it. Well, once a year its OK.

That's probably about what they cost here too. I've only bought birthday cakes from the Japanese bakery nearby but they are about $35. Expensive but great cakes. I don't think I've ever had a Christmas cake. It's not something my wife seems to care about.

not to be noisy, but do you live in Japan?

No, Michigan. I only lived in Japan for 6 years. There happens to be a bakery owned/run by a Japanese lady nearby.
So we could have had a Christmas Cake if we wanted one.

I just asked her and my wife just said it is kind of sabishii without a Christmas cake. So maybe I'll surprise her and spring for one next year. It will be her 20th Christmas spent here.

I also live in the US and we have a Japanese bakery here too all staffed by Japanese, we just went there today as a matter of fact.

Happy New Year everyone.
This is what we had to watch NHK with. By the way, NHK last night seem to have the cameras moving too fast. I had to quit watching it. Although I didn't feel dizzy, I felt it was annoying.
