Okay, will do. Thanks for the suggestion. I've got (actually antique) degrees in Linguistics and Speech Communication, but still, sometimes others see you in a truer light than you see yourself. As may be the case here.

Line does have a voice call service. I have not used it yet so I cannot say how good it is.

But if you use that or another free voice call service, I suppose that if you always ensure that when you place a Line (or Skype) call you have wi-fi access and only use the net with wi-fi access, you could go with a minimal plan and save quite a bit since you are not going through your provider's towers. You do receive calls for free yes?

I could be wrong about all that. Or it might take some tweaking to accomplish. Still pondering....

A suitable and fast-enough internet connection is recommended for good quality voice calls. 4G will suffice provided that you are not on a fast moving train or something.

Personally I am not impressed with Line's voice and video calls. I have tried several (both paid and unpaid) services and actually found Facebook Messenger to be surprisingly good. Now I use only Facebook Messenger when I want to talk with family back home. 4G or wifi doesn't make that much of a difference for me.

The downside though is that the app takes up a lot of processing and memory. Definitely not recommended on lower specs phones.

Sorry, I was just admitting that others may have a more insightful picture of myself than I do, and that in this case one of those others might actually be you.

I guess you read it as being about you. (Actually, it's about anyone, including you, but let's not get off into that.)

E.g., I fully believe that my wife often knows/sees things about me that just pass by me unnoticed. And our kids see in us as a couple things that (perhaps?) my wife and I don't even begin to realize with each other. (( >>So I really listen to them when they offer something.))

Anyway, good luck in life, esp. after you partner up with someone.
