I am a beginner so I will first try this in Japanese.
If it makes sense, yeah! If not I will re-post in English.

JREF is an English forum and this is not the Learning Japanese section. Please use English and post your Japanese version in the appropriate section.
(国鉄 doesn't exist anymore, btw.)

Some corrections/suggestions

Map of railway network(s)

<- I don't think you can actually "receive" the maps of all the networks in its entirety so I will say you have to draw reference from pieces of information (on the internet especially)

<- You are saying thanks "in advance" so this is more natural

Which networks especially are you looking for? And if you're planning your trip, hyperdia will be very helpful. If you want information on a specific line, there is plenty of information on Wiki. As for an actual map with the stations transposed on the map of Japan, I use Google.

Sorry if the reply wasn't very helpful. That is how I plan my trips (mostly with 駅すぱあと, an android app). I hope others chirp in with better ways/information.

Thanks for your help. I will create a new thread in English as required.
