Dear New MEXT Scholarship Students,
Bcc: Academic Advisors

Hello from the International Student Exchange Division, Tokyo
Institute of Technology.

We have sent you some documents today by express mail which
contain necessary information about visa, flight ticket,
dormitory and etc. to make necessary preparations for coming to
Japan. They should reach you in about a week.

If you do not receive any documents by July 20th, please kindly
let us know.

We are looking forward to seeing you on campus this fall.

As the number of rooms is limited and there are a lot of students enrolling in October, probably many of you will be on our waiting list. Sorry but we cannot assure your room at our dormitory, so please start searching your room by your own.
Also we will continue allocating our dormitory rooms, as we receive the cancellation from other students.

So if you received confirmation, I assume I'm on the waiting list :|

I am going to apply to the IGP(A) as well and my intended department is Computer Science. I have read all your post about interview question and I am confused, because i've studied Information Systems (Information Science) at undergraduate course and unfortunately we havent study automata (( do u know what kind of questions i could get according to my case? I would really appreciate all you help and suggestions.
P.S. my intended research field is NLP.

But don't worry, I think you can do it if you start studying automata by yourself because all they asked is just the basic of automata, not very advanced. Ganbatte ne!

I've a question about MEXT Scholarship for Research Student.

I got a letter of acceptance from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (signed by my academic advisor), and now I'm waiting for the second screening from MEXT. As I read in TiTECH site, in October MEXT is doing the second screening and in November MEXT contact the Universities for the "Consultation over Admission" in order to notifiy the results in February.

Does anyone know, if during November the University/Academic Advisor "notifies" the scholarship assignation to those have been selected? (apart from the final notification from MEXT in February? Do you know someone that was selected as a Research Student and notified before MEXT by the Institute or Academic Advisor?

I'm sorry to ask this, but the long wait kills hahha.

I am applying for master's program IGP(A) at Tokyo Tech this year. Last date to send all the documents is 2 December. I have talked to professor at Tokyo Tech and he said that he will be my academic advisor if i pass the initial screening process of admission, which he mentioned, is quite competitive . I saw your profile on TITech IGP-A 2011 group on facebook. Can you please help me with the documents required for the application. I am really confused regarding how to write the Study Program (Research Proposal) Document , Summary of thesis and what are the things that needs to be mention in Dean's Recommendation letter. I am a computer sciences student . And I wanted to pursue postgraduate studies in Artificial Intelligence research area . Please guide me in this matter.

Hey! You mean two weeks from now? That's fast coz I have applied to the Computer Science department and still didnt get any mail from them regarding my application status I wonder how long it will take them... And bout your interview time I think your prof meant in total. Coz u know connection also can take some time) relax I think it wont last so long)))

Basically, my professor give 3 option, Dec 19, 24, and 26 and I can do anytime, so maybe my interview will be next week. After I ask my professor, the maximum time is 30 minutes.
