It's always good to reflect, as long as you think about now and tomorrow as well. I always stare at the city from my balcony to do this.
Another pleasure:
* to have that 30 minutes for yourself in the morning before the rest wakes up. Relax on the toilet with a magazine, take a cool shower, and enjoy a nice cup of coffee
I just returned home after a week-long trip to a place called Fort Bragg here in California. There are beaches everywhere and the weather is really cold and foggy. I'm not really sure if it counts as a "little pleasure in life", but whenever I come here, I love being able to walk to the beach (our camp was THAT close) and spend hours staring at it and looking at the tide pools. All that time alone on a beach can actually be a pretty humbling experience when you stop everything else and think about life. It was really relaxing and put me in an almost poetic mood, which is really out of character for me.

Ah, I love that, too. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do it again since I'm out of high school and have more important things to get to, but over the Summer breaks, my family didn't really do much aside from lay around and relax, so I'd usually end up getting myself on a nocturnal schedule. It looks and feels a little loser-ish, but waking up at around 4-5 PM is actually quite nice because you basically get the house to yourself after a few hours when everyone goes to bed, and then you've got peace and quite, no sun to bother you, and nice, cool weather. I look back on those Summers very fondly.
Got an early Xmas present yesterday. A new target pistol I ordered came in. I get to take it all apart , clean it and oil it and put it back together. I put a set of green laser grips on it since my eyesight is not as good as when I was younger. I picked up 10 boxes of different ammunition to try with it. Can't wait to get to the shooting range to punch some holes in targets. I try to buy guys that I know will go up in value over the years. I look at them as an investment like stocks and bonds , only they go up in value much faster. Each Xmas , I try to add a new gun to my collection. Very happy this week.
