Wesley Snipes is free!!

Seems he was released on April 2nd.

It also seems the press decided to largely ignore it, cause you know, they never follow up on anything. Him going to jail? Big scoop. Him getting released? Oh, let's scare everybody with Kim Frog's latest saber rattling. (sigh)

Anyway, congratulations to him. I think his jailing was BS and I think his 3 year sentence was freaking excessive (Martha Stewart only go six months for insider trading, something I find to be a lot more malicious and crooked than failing to bend over for Uncle Sam). It was about money, the IRS POS's finally got their money, so I can't see three years in jail for his first conviction ever for failing to file (cough) tax returns (nice oxymoron there).

Perhaps he will seek South Korean citizenship now? He used to spend a lot of time there. Whatever he does, I hope he can find a way to get away with not paying Uncle Sam a dime ever again.

Whatever his next movie, I will go see it just to support the dude.

I can tell you one thing: South Korea probably doesn't want a guy that doesn't pull his own weight. Considering how Kang Ho-Dong flushed his career down the toilet for the same thing.

And consider how much money goes toward making bombs that kill innocent people in foreign countries. National defense? Don't make me laugh. The bloated, grossly overfunded U.S. military is overwhelmingly NOT for national defense.

Disgusting that you should assume a man's motives like that. Have you any idea how much he has given to charity?

And there is is also the motive of just not wanting to hand copious amounts of cash to the U.S. government, both for the reasons I already mentioned, that SOME people like to turn a blind eye to, and also simply because the federal income tax was set up to pay for WWI but the thieving U.S. government just decided to keep gouging us even after that was paid for.

Our Founding Fathers did not intend to have a federal government this big, this powerful and this grossly over-funded, taking money off of people simply for having earned it rather than from ownership of property.

Well Snipes just might not have a problem paying taxes to the S.K. gov like he does the U.S. gov. Ever think of that?

Edit: And oh yes. Why anyone not want to pay U.S. taxes? Because the U.S. government would spent so much money to lock a man up for 3 years on misdemeanor tax charges!!!

He is under house arrest until July 19.

This is faxing ridiculous and just another good reason why I despise the U.S. government.

Would public schools be free for all citizens if no one paid taxes? Should we regress to an archaic system where only the wealthy are allowed an education, and the ability to read. That would mean creating a caste system again. I guess that makes you pro caste system.

You seem to have the Federal income tax confused with "all taxes".

Um...no. There is still sales tax and property tax. There are good reasons why federal income tax did not exist before WWI and yes, we could afford public schools for all classes without it.

"Might makes right." Indeed it does.

Tax evasion has always been a jailable offense. It's how they got Al Capone locked up.
Penniless debtors can declare bankruptcy. Actors who make millions of dollars cannot just decide to not pay their taxes.
It's not the job of the government to go through seizure and repossession for every serious tax delinquent. The law is the law, and jail was easily avoidable. No need to accommodate someone who committed a crime because you see a better way.
