Hello, native English speakers,

Would the following sentences be used?
(1) I'm dreaming of becoming a first-rate professional soccer player.

(2) I'm dreaming of helping people in the world who have no place to live.

Thanks in advance.

Though it depends on the context, a more natural way would be:

(1) I dream of becoming a first-rate professional soccer player.

(2) I dream of helping people in the world who have no place to live.

:) But yes both ways are fine.

I second what Axion said. BTW you could also say "I dream of becoming a top-notch professional soccer player."

Thanks for the help, Chidoriashi. "Top-notch" is a new word to me.

your sentences are fine, though in some places "football" is used instead of "soccer", but soccer is understood nearly everywhere, just so your aware in case you didnt know

It's correct but sounds unusual. Anyways, here is my suggestion.
1. I dream of becoming a top-rated soccer player.
2. I dream of helping homeless people in the world and give them shelter.

In your #2, that should be "helping" and "giving" if you mean "I dream of helping homeless people and I dream of giving them shelter". As it is written, it sounds like, "I dream of helping homeless people (in the future). I give them shelter (now)".

If that so, then thanks for correcting me.

Both sentences are grammatically correct, but I think they sound somewhat unnatural. I think these sound more natural:

(1) My dream is to become a first-rate professional soccer player.
(2) My dream is to help people who have no place to live.
(2) Someday, I'd like to help people who have no place to live.

I removed "in the world" from the second sentence, because it makes it sound a little verbose.
