Sanja Matsuri (festival)

Hi all,
On Sunday I`ll be going to the Sanja matsuri in Asakusa. I`m just wondering what would be the best time for it. I did some reading and found out it starts at 6am and goes through to late afternoon/evening (if I remember correctly). I doubt anything serious will be happening at 6am, but does anyone know what time the main action there will be starting? And what route they will take?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
