Why are the Japanese such a bunch of whale-munching *******??

They don't eat it , LOL...............

they just look at it under a microscope for research. I just can't figure out why they need so many whales for "reasearch" ??

Uncle Frank

😊

PS - In the two years I was in Japan, I never saw anyone eat whale?

THe research has already been shown to be either worthless or fraudulent.....most of it just reads like a menu.

Maybe not something to completely go by, but interesting to watch

Why are the Japanese such a bunch of whale-munching b*******??

Hmm, well lets see,

1. Whale munching - part of Japanese culture. Unlike western whaling which threw out most of the carcass and stripped it of it's blubber to be rendered into oil the Japanese used the whales for food as well.

2. Whales are yummie.

3. I do not know, personally, of any Japanese who's parents were not married. However, I am certain that some must exist, therefore some Japanese must be bastards. Whether the aforementioned bastards munch on whales or not is strictly conjecture but I would hazard to guess that some of them must. And that is how you get a Japanese whale munching bastard, although whether there are enough of them to be considered a "bunch" is again strictly conjecture.

Happy I could clear that up for you.

THe japanese govt is now o a campaign of "bribery" to get support for it's whale munching cravings.
They are giving away money to any country that will vote with them on the whaling commission.

"Culture" - cannibalism was part of many cultures - do you accept that as a valid reason to continue it.?
WW2 is not taught in Japanese schools as are many "uncomfortable" things - it is about time the rest of the world made sure that the Japanese realised what a disgusting bunch they are when it comes to perpetuating this barbaric and unsustainable habit in a modern world.

Get off your high horse. You don't eat any meat?

And there are a lot of countries that did not and will not have a commercial whaling fleet if the IWC ever reopens the commercial hunt. And yet they are members of the IWC. Obviously the intricacies of international politics are lost on you but suffice it to say that all major developed countries do the exact same thing to try to drum up support.

Depends on the context. Is it harming another human being? Or is it a ritual/religious celebration of the dead (human spongiform encephalopathy aside)?

Really? Someone should have let my children's teachers know they could stop teaching them about WW2! I'm sure both the teachers and kids would have been happy to hear that. Dullard.

As for unsustainable - news flash - whale stocks aren't going down they're going up. The Japanese are harvesting whales in a sustainable manner (fin whales excluded IMHO). Even the scientific experts at the IWC agree that a sustainable hunt is possible, at higher levels than the Japanese are currently taking.

Yes SOME SPECIES are going up because relatively few are being killed except by those Japanese loons! and they STILL want to increase the numbers and species they blow up with explosive harpoons
THe food they live off however is diminishing and they are now endangered from a different side - so why encourage the Japanese to eat them when they are certainly going to face problems in the future without the help of that ghastly nations industry.

I think every time you see a Japanese person you should raise the topic with them - just to let them know how out of step they are with the civilised world

If you are going to argue in support of whaling may I suggest that you at least familiarise yourself with the basics of whale ecology etc -like most people who venture an opinion on this subject you do it from a position of profound ignorance

PS - oh thou of limited knowledge - an increase in population is NOT the equivalent of a "sustainable" population. Jeez - how thick can you get!

Speaking of being out of whack with the rest of the world, what are your thoughts on Thailand and the abuse of Orangutans taken illegally from the wild. Not only that they are treated very badly and often die slow painful deaths. There is even Orangutan boxing taking place in Thailand.
http://www.born-to-be-wild.org/html/thailand.html

Why don't you look at yourself in the mirror before throwing those stones of yours. Glass houses don't hold up to well when we are talking about Endangered Species, especially in Thailand.

I have to say I've read some brainless arguments in my time but this lot could win prizes - if there were prizes for stupidity.

So you think that the persecution of one species justifies the persecution of another - I think your argument is slightly flawed, don't you? - you seriously consider that one justifies the other - ?????

I really think that if you are going to chip in you should firstly have an idea of what you are talking about and then form a proper argument - you're doing neither.

Now orangutans - Thailand? - they've been extinct here for generations - I wonder why because arse-hole like yourself took the attitude that there was no problem and it was Thai culture?
as for Tigers - well they FARM them - at places like the Tiger Temple and Sri Racha zoo so they can be pickled and sold on as medicine in China - I suppose because they do that it means that the Japanese can kill whales and the Papua New Guineans can start eating each other?

but what's the point if you have no idea where orangoutangs are threatened yet you decide to include it i your argument - GET YOUR INFORMATION right first

Yes SOME SPECIES are going up - nitwit - because relatively few are being killed except by those Japanese loons! and they STILL want to increase the numbers and species they blow up with explosive harpoons

Uhm, unless ship strikes (which kill more whales annually than the Japanese) are killing more whales than I think all whale species are increasing in numbers.

THe food they live off however is diminishing and they are now endangered from a different side - so why encourage the Japanese to eat them when they are certainly going to face problems in the future without the help of that ghastly nations industry.

I'm going to have to ask you to provide a citation for that, something in the accepted peer reviewed literature please not the crap spouted by Paul Watson and his merry band of misfits, otherwise I'm just going to call "bullshit spouted by a dullard who can't make a coherent argument".

If you are going to argue in support of whaling may I suggest that you at least familiarise yourself with the basics of whale ecology etc -like most people who venture an opinion on this subject you do it from a position of profound ignorance

Again, please provide me with citations from the accepted peer reviewed literature to help educate me. Otherwise this is just more "bullshit spouted by a dullard who can't make a coherent argument".

PS - oh thou of limited knowledge - an increase in population is NOT the equivalent of a "sustainable" population. Jeez - how thick can you get!

Do you even understand the concept of a sustainable population? Of course not, a sustainable population is one that can be maintained at it's current level without negatively impacting the environment or quality of life of the population indefinitely. If the minke whales population isn't sustainable it's because there are too many of them and the Japanese are actually helping by "culling the herd". But that doesn't matter, you're another environut dullard who's crying for the cute animals while snarfing down cheeseburgers wearing your leather nikes made with real 10 year old sweatshop labor and washing that down with a bucket of good old lard fried chicken.

Ahh... You need to learn some comprehension skills there lassy. I never said they were taken from Thailand, I said they were taken from the wild, as in illegal trading(which is just great, you kill all your own animals and start somewhere else) Yeah a real shinning example to give you the right to critisis another nation when you can't even look after your own land. And no, I don't think that the persecution of one species justifies the persecution of another, how about you polish up that 6th grade reading level of yours before opening that seemingly big mouth of yours.

The point to my comment on the orangutans also seemed to slipped by you sherlock and my point being that how about you worry about your countries indiscretions before going and attacking another? Or could I bring up the destruction of forests by the trade of illegal Cambodian timber. Illegal timber And the fact that Japan is sending money to help the forests there, Japan Funds Thai-Cambodia transboundary conservation project. But thats right , Japan is all bad?

As for the sustainability argument, please present any evidence that the whales that Japan is hunting are not sustainable. If you can't then all you are doing is stepping on that little soap box of yours and continuing to let diarrhea dribble out of that mouth of yours.

As for the arse-hole like myself, at this point in time all the whaling that is being done is so far sustainable. Even notable ENVIRONMENTALIST,Professor Tim Fannery has stated that it is hard to say that whaling is not sustainable, Flannery says Japan whaling 'sustainable'

And I don't see the difference in farmed animals and wild animals if there is a sustainable source, something which you conveniently are failing to accept. Instead, all you can do is throw around insults at me and other posters like the 10 year old brat you are, only b/c you have nothing of substance in your argument , except to accuse people of not knowing anything from no basis of facts at all, when the reality is you are the one very much misinformed.

And bilqis, don't be so quick to hand out those prizes for stupidity, you may need them for yourself.

Better than beef

Actually, eating whalemeat is environmentally friendlier than eating beef. Do you know why?
Ecological economics. The amount of land needed to raise one cow is enough to grow grain that could feed 2 or 3 people.
Ozone depletion. Each cow excretes a ton of methane, which is 10 times more harmful to the ozone layer than CO2.
Humanitarian condsideration. Slaughtering cattle is waay more disgusting than harpooning whales. Check youtube on this. Caution, you may turn vegitarian after seeing it.

So, save the planet by eating whalemeat rather than steaks & hamburgers

A round of applause for about the most facile post so far!

utter drivel - you are one of those half-baked "intellectuals" who thinks that if they dig up one or two articles by Goggling" they have the answer. If life was that simple, you'd be a veritable pig in ****.

Like I thought , no substantial argument, so just like any internet tuffgirl you resort to avoiding the questions put forth to you. Lame

Where is YOUR proof?

Why are the Japanese such a bunch of whale-munching bastards??

It should have been obvious right off the bat this poster is a troll.

From: http://curezone.com/forums/troll.asp

An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" or "Message Board Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer. Forum Troll delights in sowing discord on the forums. A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is purposely provoking and pulling people into flaming discussion. Flaming discussions usually end with name calling and a flame war.

FrustratedDave already summed it up perfectly. But I said it in another thread before and I will say it again. You are nothing but HYPOCRITE, so please take your hypocritical ramblings elsewhere cuz most of the posters on this forum have more than enough intellect to deal with your crap.

Thread closed. I was created by a foul mouth idiot who can't seem to take the hint that her stupidity or trollish behaviour will not be tolerated on the forum. Unfortunately there is no cure for stupid.
