Susan Boyle to sing on NHK's 'Kohaku'

Singer Susan Boyle, who made a sensational debut in April on popular TV contest "Britain's Got Talent," will sing on "Kohaku Uta Gassen" ("Red and White Singing Battle") on Dec. 31, NHK said Thursday.

She is pretty hot in the Julia Child sort of way. Her popularity is quite impressive. Even my mother knows her name. Is she going to be IN Japan for this or are they going to do a remote live-feed from England?

NHK has announced that Susan is scheduled to come to NHK Hall in Shibuya on 31st December.

I am pretty sure that her voice will attract many Japanese.

Susan Boyle's album was a bit of a disappointment for me. She seemed to really play it safe--mostly just Broadway standards (or, at least, that's what they all sound like). She didn't really seem to push herself, in my opinion. But this album was kind of a rush job, I imagine. So maybe her next effort will have some original content, more warmth and expressiveness in the vocals and surprise us a little.


Love the only the instrumental/orchestral versions, though.
