Hahaha, old mate so old, we used to use that joke everytime me and my mates were at the shops when we were younger, but I've never actually tried them, are faggots tasty?
 
I always thought faggots were made with tobacco....:?
 
No. Fags is a BrEng term for cigarettes. We do not use the term faggot for cigarettes, but for the food that Derfel had posted.

I did it for the first time.

I've not tried faggots either, but it looks pretty good on the packaging. Maybe I should set out to procure some faggots.

Hahaha, 'smoking faggots' would cause quite a bit of confusion lol. Guess smoked faggots could taste good though.

I've never tried it, but checking out its recipe, I find it very interesting and would like to try.
There are many, many different recipes on the net...

Some of the recipes includes lamb's liver/heat which are hard to come by here in Japan, but some other recipes use only pig's entrails which I can find at local supermarkets or butchers.
I might try to cook it myself when I've got a chance... :devilish::gohan:

Until I read this thread I never knew the word "faggot" could mean so many different things! :D

Most of the time faggot is used to refer to a homosexual person or a despicable person or as wikipedia states an effeminate person. I've not actually heard anyone seriously using the word to refer to anything else.

A bundle of sticks...

I always use that term when collecting firewood. I also regularly do a bit of fagoting in my free time.
 
As Derfel said the word is commenly a reference to homosexuals however in a very derogatory way, which is also why it's used in terms of a despicable person. Its quite a strong word around here, however I hear it more used by Americans than anyone else which is not surprising since the wiki says the US played a big part in spreading it.

I often see the word used that way in literature. In Russian literature, the aristocracy fallen on hard times will sometimes chop up their heirloom antiques for faggots rather than freeze to death :(

I've also heard the expression used for a bundle of sticks... guess no one uses it any more as no one burns wood all that much.

Wow! I knew about the bundle of firewood and the derogatory term, but knitting, metalworking and everything else was new to me! Thanks!
 
I've never tasted a faggot, but I love fags, they fill my lungs with glee.
