I am looking for Hello Kitty ramen noodles to take back to my daughter in the states. Does anyone know where I can find them?

If you're in Tokyo, a Don Quixote store (Don Ki-o-te) should carry some Hello Kitty merchandise. It's basically like Walmart, a dollar store and a head shop all rolled into one, everything from the practical to the tacky to the erotic, usually 4 or 5 floors of it. The basement level in these places usually houses the food, dry snacks and sundries section.

Sanrio recently concentrates on Hello Kitty ramen mostly as non-urban tourist spot (like Hokkaido or Kyushu ) specialty souvenirs. They use real noodles insted of "instant" ones (not good for international shipping.)
Fortunately, Obayashi Kanamonoten in Kyoto sells Hello Kitty dishware (Ramen Bowl prod.# is RLC23, numbered 6 in the pic.)
They do mail-orders and take some credit cards too, but they do not ship overseas.
They do not make email address public, just reply comes when you place an order or a query in Japanese.
Another company Eikoh introuced ramen bowl and Chinese spoon set in Jan. 2007, but it is meant to be a prize item, the only way to get it is probably Internet auction.
Various Hello Kitty chopsticks&case set should be easily available at Puroland as well as many Sanrio Shops.

And you've looked in places like Jusco, and that sort of thing? There seems to be so much more Hello Kitty merchandise (though the real deal is Anpanman & Doraemon), wouldn't it be better to bring her back something a little more permanant than a package of 80en ramnen?

I've looked in Jusco and various Japanese stores....I just can't seem to find them any where other than online.
I am in Okinawa and am leaving tomorrow, so I won't be able to look many other places before I go. I guess I could always order then online....but if they don't ship overseas, then that's no use either.
I'mma go pout in the corner now.
I'm glad you think that I would ONLY bring my daughter back ramen noodles....lol. I just thought they were cool and she loves hello kitty and ramen. I plan on bringing her something a little more permanant....ya know, like rice balls~

LOL go to the arcades and win some hello kittys. fun for you, kitty for her haha. Doraemon and Anpanman are all big in japan too but they are not as international...or should i say not international at all.

hahaha~ there are sooo many games where you can win hello kitty, trust me, I've tried. i'm just NOTTTTTTTTTTTT good at it at all!

Haha but in Japan what i love about the arcades is that if you put in enough money and ask the workers to help you, you win eventually haha. Here at my place you can stick in 50£ and not win a thing. When im in Japan i often play the arcades for my enjoyment and use the prizes as gifts for back home lol. but maybe....a women will have better morals then me ^-^

With some of the things I read on this forum, you never know! Funny... every time someone would visit us from Japan they always brought back food... mostly sweets & Japanese crisps... People seem to have a hard time wrapping their heads around crackers wrapped in nori... but, these things you get a taste for and it's heaven when you can find them in an Asian grocery store.I'm glad you think that I would ONLY bring my daughter back ramen noodles....lol. Not at all... a bean jam bun that fights crime, or bad eating habits, or what? What in the world...??? Most everyone I met loved Doraemon, or had a soft spot for Anpanman, but in Japan, nobody really mentions Hello Kitty.

True. Even in the UK Hello Kitty is becoming big (in fashion accessories e.g. bags) but nothing from the other mentioned.When i first seen a little girl engrossed in anpanman i wondered what this message was giving children as to my horror i seen him offering his body to be eaten...clear signs of cannalbalism amoung other weird messages and as i pondered this i was taken back to reality by a little girl screaming ANPAN!! PUNCH!! as she gave me a right hook to my eye socket lol. Doraemon on the other hand is more like a national icon, everyone knows and loves him. Its like us and tom and jerry or bugs bunny in the sense of our parents watched it, we watched it and our kids will watch it. i actually have the doraemon Manga and everyone ive showed it to have loved it so maybe given the chance it could be liked over here. i agree it is strange how its opposites in how we like kitty but not them. Though you do see many things in Japan like toys at the arcades and bags also.

Crackers wrapped in Nori huh? That sounds pretty delicious if you ask me. I myself have not tried that, now that I'm back in the states, I'm sure I'll never be able to until I'm back in Japan.
I never found Hello Kitty Ramen, although, I did find Pokemon....so that's what I brought back. Those along with candies and cookies...makes for good snacking.

It's just a shame that they last only so long... I'm lucky enough to have a Korean grocery store where I can get said crackers (Nobody I know likes them... so more for me!), but not too far is an authentic Japanese grocery store... You should be able to find those little treats somewhere in Florida... I lived in Orlando and we had at least a few places...
You can always have a bit of Japan at home if you find the right place!

Hai Hai. Near my university i have a Japanese restaurant but you can go in and in the basement its like a mini supermarket. I often buy Pocky, different types of crisps, biru or sake, Yakisoba, raman, sushi, Calpis and loads of other things. Although i dislike paying more for the imports im also happy i can buy my favourite stuff any time i want.

Me too, you're paying a premium and only getting a small sample of what you would in Japan, but at least it beats a bag of Doritos, and even Doritos are different in Japaan...
I just wish I could find some Thai iced tea. I did find a Korean drink that is almost exactly like Calips though...

One thing i miss from japan is Chipstars and also id love to get some Meltikiss. the owner is quite reasonable so i asked him to get me some haha but he told me he can only get whats availible and also what the authorities will let him bring back. To get just one container costs i think 1000£ and he always has to fly to japan to order the stuff i think so i dont think he makes too much profit from the shop, just the restaurant. But alot of Japanese students work there so im glad they can get a chance, working in england before you have your degree is quite hard as of course we cant compare their school results where our GCSE's or A levels. So i guess even though its expensive i still find it worth it and like visiting there haha even if its only for a little bit of Japan.

They're crisper, and less flakey than doritos in the United States... more like corn-chips... I don't know if a dorito IS a corn chip or not... I'm not privy to what a dorito even consists of... But the Japanese ones are crunchier.

Ps. Pizza-La's pizza's cost a small fortune, say in the realm of en3,000 or so, but their comercials are the best in the world.

pps. Pizza-La is a major pizza chain in Japan, I only remember them, and Pizza-Hut... To give some example... a cheese pizza in my neighborhood costs $4.80 (granted I live in a college town where thousands of pizzas are consumed), that's about 500+ en or so... Pizza-La pizzas, as I said go for around 3,000, 3,500en (and even for the kids meals)... That's about 26 to 30 dollars or so. My ex's parents used to only buy them on their wedding anniversary....
I found those at the Japanese grocery stores in Manhattan, though of course I think they come out with limited edition flavours and such that you might not see... Meltikiss are delicious.
They make sort of knock-off versions in 99en shop, but those generally aren't up to par!

Haha indeed. I love both reds of chipstar and meltikiss. Im a chocolate monster as it is so like a child a box of meltikiss can keep me quiet for a while. Have you ever got something from the Japanese shop back home, thought it was tasty yet couldnt find it when you went to a shop in Japan?
I like the 100yen shops...but not for buying sweets lol. its interesting that everything really is 100yen lol. Where i live we have a few £1 shops (roughly 230yen or $1.90) and you go in and see things with a price of 5.99£. It makes me think why is it called a pound shop?

We have a few places around here that sell authentic Japanese food, but I'm not sure what I'm reading....so I never know what to buy. LOL!

Probably only Frosty can answer this (and I find this amusing that this was the first thread I found when I just came on here as I was searching the internet for the answer to this questiion) but if there are any other Brits looking, what British Supermarket sells cup / instant Ramen? Or do I have to resort to throwing vegetables and stuff in plain Super Noodles? My mate has a cup (that he randomly kept even though he ate the contents) that is actually Japanese and he won't tell me where he got it from even though I know damn well he hasn't been to Japan. Help???
