Yoshiki, Gackt and Sugizo start band together

If they pick a bass player I think it should be a female. I can't think of any at the moment. I mean then it won't be a pretty boy band. Also it would surprise a lot if people who are expecting a male to take bass role.I know random, just it would be kinda funny...
I'm also sure Yoshiki knows what he is doing. He is doing something he loves-making music, etc. etc. and we just have to wait and see what will come of all this.
All I wish them is good luck!

Hmmm actually that WOULD bet interesting and definitly different if they had a girl bassist! It might even be fun!

What ever the case of course I think Yoshiki knows what he;s doing after all XDD He has been in the industry for a long time!

...
...

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! god damn... i thought JREF at LEAST would be free of drama and trolling... man, i should go back to batsu... x_x

sakevi... if you don't like the music (even though they haven't $%^%$ released anything yet...) then... don't post on the "fans of the yoshikixgacktxsugizoxmyv superband congregate!" thread. i'm not being crazy, it's perfectly logical. so you think SKIN and all its parts will be ****... ok, whatever, but you're not going to CONVINCE people or anything by posting it here... i mean, we *are* insane/drooling/stalking fangirls-that-only-care-about-looks-oh-gackt-marry-me-even-though-i'm-300+-pounds-and-14-years-old... we're not going to "see the light", i guarantee you that. so... why waste each other's lives?

and as one of the people at JREV, i dunno, would you rather we were completely silent the whole time? maybe we could all sit with our ankles crossed and clap lightly? it's a CONCERT. you HEADBANG and you SCREAM and you HAVE FUUUN. more noise=more support for the band... how horrible would it be to be a rock band playing in front of a full SILENT house... and i speak as a performer... that would be the worst. i would rather have people cheering me on while i'm performing in a STAGE PLAY than sitting unresponsively, let alone at a CONCERT directed at people below the age of 50.

sorry... i usually am really nice to people and hate confrontation... but trolls just bother me, especially when they don't even argue something logical... something that is fact as opposed to opinion and judgment. ^_^ have a nice day... maybe someday we'll agree on something...

😊 i've had the opportunity to polish it a couple times now... unfortunately :(

man I cant freakin wait to hear what meev's and sugizo will do together on guitar. I've been watching some of their pv's and stuff. They are gonna kick *** on guitar.
case in point:
sugizo:

miyavi:

NOTE: That's obviously not a pv, but it is of course meev's song.

But the spirit of your post stays intact :-)
He left X because he had a different vision of Yoshiki's music project and management of the band; do you really think he will join this supaaaband??
It would make a nice reunion :-)
And hey, I did change to some... some is a big and powerful word meaning that yes, if he really wanted to create a "superband" he would have chosen others but still, to have these 4 on stage is like some type of dream. I do agree with you by the way, that media thing. This band is mostly for show, something fun for the fans... but I still support this project.
*pukes on Yoshiki*
Sourpuss don't be so mean!!! :(

Wow you don't check this thread a couple of days and all hell breaks loose hehe :p I think Sakevi is just bitter cause he/she had some bad experiences or is just bored.

And about Yoshiki he really is a great musician, sure there is always some marketing needed but that marketing doesn't reach europe and still I love J-bands and many do with me without being influenced by marketing.

@ A-chama
Yeah everyone has fangirls moments, at Ayabie's live I screamed too to let them now they where welcome and not playing for a bunch of zombies and I'm sure that an active crowd gives them alot of energie to make a great show.

I totally agree with what everyone has said !

And dakkii I love your speach you deserve a metal <3

And about Yoshiki he really is a great musician, sure there is always some marketing needed but that marketing doesn't reach europe and still I love J-bands and many do with me without being influenced by marketing.

I was thinking the same, we aren't exposed to their endless tries of getting us to buy a doll or candy with their name on it, we are only exposed to the music and that's because we search for it, it doesn't come to us.
And besides, who that has gone MAJOR ISN'T selling them selves one way or another, some do it by putting their face everywhere others by releaseing 1000 CDs and DVDs, if you intend to be in showbusiness you have to flirt with the media.

Let's see, just the important and not the buttkissers:

The keyword for today is FORUM, not fanlisting. You are as free to ignore me as I'm free to post whatever I want here while I don't break the FORUM rules, capish??

If everybody think I'm a bitter guy, then, jump my post and continue posting and agreeing with all your friends crap :-)

Guess what: I'm also a musician (a drummer) and I really can't stand the stupid screaming of fangirls... call me an old guy or whatever, but I prefer people to recognize my music rather than my look; all of you just scream to the guys on stage, not the music. It's not a damn fashion stage.

Heh, I'm always nice to people (not just usually) and LOVE confrontation... but annoying fangirls really bother me, specially when they don't argue anything logical. The day we agree on something, I'll shoot to my head, I prefer to be dead rather than being a rabid fanboy.

No doubt about that ^^ I mean, they used to be great friends even before Taiji joined X, when he was guitar player of Dementia they used to live in the same apartment. The music took them to opossite ways, surely it will bring them back together one day 👍

Sorry, I skipped that part of your last post. You're right 👍

But I don't support this project: if Yoshiki is a good musician he should continue demonstrating that... he is just doing again what he did in 1990: dissapointing his old fans, the ones that respected him for the things he did in music, not the media.

Somebody must have a different opinion here; it's boring to read the same things everywhere, like if all of you just make "copy&paste" in every forum I see...

Also, my psychologist didn't know why I do this things for many years, I should have paid you, I could have saved some money hahaha :p

Why I do this?? I hate fangirls.

That's a big contradiction: the J tag is a marketing tag (wrongly used by western fans to refer japanese music) so, you're also exposed to that marketing.

One thing is selling your music putting 1,000 CD's in a music store, and another is selling condoms, plushies, wine, dolls or thongs with your face or band name on it... the big difference between musicians is that: I respect musicians for their music, not their marketing products.

So, if they like to show his body, make a model career!! and don't take the music as a facemask to make your broken dreams happen (Yoshiki dixit)

And don't worry, I'll be here as long as I respect some of you (Kinsao, Child_prey, Anchyy, DemonHunter...) see you around crazy people!!

hey sakevi, just curious. Who's your favorite japanese rock band? Oh and I'm not a fangirl, I dont think I would've bought over 60 cd's with my hard earned money if it was only about the looks, if that were the case I would've spent all my money on posters and plushies and crap, but instead I support my favorite artists/bands by purchasing there music because I truly love it. Oh and btw, I'm a guy lol.

Im not gonna be be big fan of this band. Miyavi, Yoshiki and Sugizo are awesome but I dont really like Gackt's vocals at all.
But there is one thing I'll be looking forward to.
MiyavixGackt fanservice.
*o*

I've said this in other threats: X; I started to listen to them about 20 years ago with other bands as Loudness, Anthem etc. Probably it is a sentimental thing, because it was the first band my older brother made me listen (when I was a little sourpuss) Just remember that Yoshiki's band had 2 eras: X and later X-Japan... my favorite band is X in his X era (specially 1984-1989)

Anyways, I have a lot of bands I like, favorite eras of music (like the 1985-1988 indies era) and favorite musicians (I've named a few in some threats) I prefer not to get stuck in mass media or marketing artist, eventhough there are awesome musicians there (I'm always discussing with fans because I admire Sakura and throw sh*t to Yukihiro in L'arc)

And well, as I said you, after you listen to japanese music in general, it's a real shame that we just receive mostly crap like Visual Kei and jpop in general (jpop in its whole concept, not a music style as most of western people believe)

Nice. I know most of you have music CD's or ripped mp3, but c'mon, just look at any threat in this "music" forum and you can realize what is the common topic to talk in almost every band threat... I started to fight here in JREF in a drummers topic (I remember that) because, instead of talking about technique or something else, they were talking about who was the cutest drummer and who was exciting to see.

Don't worry, from now on, I will talk about fangirls/fanboys in general :p

ok, i agree that i should have skipped your comment/attack/whatever, but now you have personally attacked me ("nice" my ***).

how dare you assume i am a fangirl. how dare you. girugamesh is one of my favorite bands, and they are hideous. i screamed as loud as they could when they came on stage because i love their MUSIC. do you really think i would pay money on plane tickets and concert tickets and food and waste my entire weekend waiting in line (12 hours) in the sun to listen to some **** music? if i gave a **** about looks, i would have lined up early for the first day... and maybe got in line for the merch stand the second i got in there as opposed to finding a good place for the *actual* concert (PEOPLE WERE DOING THAT!!! what?!?!).. and i would have spent the whole thing taking pictures instead of headbanging. and i don't know the personalities of all my favorite jrockers. i don't make graphics/ write fanfiction about them. i don't even know most of their names. all i know about them is that i like tracks 1 thru 12. and i agree with what nan desu ka said.

and for someone so against fangirls, you seem to be a little preoccupied with looks yourself (is one's music immediately bad if they don't resemble a hair ape?) the screaming thing-- that's your own opinion. that's fine. tell your fans not to scream like that, bring earplugs to concerts, whatever. but don't assume that cheering at concerts=fangirls.

i can't talk about specific techiniques because i'm not a musician... but i like to discuss the *actual* music and interpret the lyrics... i'm synetsthetic, so it's difficult for me to explain in words sometimes, but i try. i agree that this forum in particular is FULL of fangirls (and i agree that some VK fans prey on these girls now XD), but that doesn't mean we all are. maybe it has something to do with each artist getting only one thread (ie. a song thread vs. a zomg-your-fav-yaoi-pairing!!! thread). Dir en grey is my favorite band... and that fanbase is INFAMOUS for being fangirly and horrid... i get fed up with diru fans often nowadays... but it's the MUSIC that keeps me with them... if i just liked them because they were good-looking, i would just move on and find another "good-looking" band (it wouldn't be hard as, like you say, most of the VK market of late is just pretty bands and recycled/mediocre music-- but a note: don't generalize. i like a lot of REALLY indies VK music that doesn't rely on the "pretty boy" look).

ok, i'm almost done: now i know we're not exactly being friendly to one another, but what does LOUDNESS sound like? i was thinking of getting some...

Is this argument done? I mean I love how everyone agrees that fangirls are annoying and whatnot.... but I don't really think this is what this topic is about 😌

And please don't start bashing me for saying this... I mean I respect whatever opinions you hold (Nan desu ka and SakeVi) but ... I don't really feel like having this thread turn into a war 😌

1.- I'm not saying that being pretty makes you a bad artist (just look at me 😌 ) or being ugly makes you an awesome artist... the fact here is that in Visual Kei industry, since 1996, they are more focused to bring kawaii people on stage and lame music, just for YOUR pleasure (fangirls).

I'm preoccupied for that because I also know the beginning of Visual (Visual, period) in Japan, and how it was deformed into a crappy business circus called Visual Kei (yeah, with the Kei included) by a disgusting guy that just care about the look and not the music. You should check Visual Scandal (1980) to see what's a TRUE glam/Visual band, and how perfect they used to combine their MUSIC with their LOOK, creating a perfect atmosphere, making what your new idols destroyed for the name of the money.

I have played for several punk bands (a japanese one included) for jazz improvisation and also thrash metal bands... I don't think I need to say those crowds how to behave: I just LOVE that (and specially in Mexico)

It sound just like their name, and they have one of the best guitar players in Japan (and the most recognized around the world) named Akira Takasaki.

80's heavy metal for a bigger reference.

It will be when fangirls dissapear.

One note... I think dakki was saying she screamed because she like the music despite them LOOKING hideous... 😌

And ... some how I think fangirls aren't ever going to disappear... at least the bad kind of fangirls XD ]

I mean technically if you;re a "fan" and you're a "girl" that makes you a "fangirl" and same with guys if you a "fan" and you're a "boy" then you're a "fanboy" .... 😌 there are just some fans have less good reasons then others for liking a certain artists...

Anyway... I just really meant that this thread isn't really about bashing fan-anythings 😌

It's about the band called S.K.I.N. and of course you're allowed to say whatever you like about, weather that means you hate it and the concept or you like it and think it's the best think since sliced bread... or whatever.... 😌

Anyway sorry to rambled... I just don't really like arguing.... 😌

>> which will be never... there will always be fangirls >_<

"Nice, you screamed even they weren't playing the music you like"
...nooo... when did i say that? O_o

and i agree i have acted fangirly on this forum at times because it's what everyone else is doing. yes, conformity, bad me. but for me, i'm the only one in my area that likes jrock. i've all but given up on intelligent discussion, but at least *some* vain talk on a favorite band is better than nothing. i know you disagree, but i'm basically all alone in my music and all my friends tease me about it (and "internet friends" aren't really real friends).

besides, saying something "fangirly" isn't the END OF THE WORLD if you just do it once in a while... if it's on TOP of your love for the music. meh... this will probably be misunderstood... i'm not condoning fangirlism at ALL. *prepairs to be jumped on*

can someone make a "fangirl" topic and a mod move the last few posts into it? we're way off topic...

Hmmm.

We can see fanatics as a shared passion for an unique objetive, and an absolute value is given to that objetive. So, when you believe in something over all, you can call yourself a fanatic.

The fanatic is extremely urgent and needed to stick to something... after this you can see how you behave and if you are really a fanatic, or in this case, a fangirl or a fanboy; and not just "believe" in that word technically. :p

I assumed that because when a band comes to stage, they usually make it walking and take their positions and instruments... unless they started playing.

The first step is accept that :-)

And mmm, I'm dissapointed in your second point: that shouldn't be a reason to give it up and became a fangilr "sometimes". I'm also alone in my music taste, but hey, if they don't agree, ****'em!!! I won't throw away my attitude, my way of being or my point of view just to fit in a small (and stupid) group of people that can't see beyond their noses.

You can notice that with my posts here, and everywhere.

Once in a while... twice in a while... until it becomes a custom or a repetitive behave. Be aware of that, because it will happen and you won't notice that until another SaKeVi shows up and points you.

There was a threat of rabid fangirls somewhere; I fought there too.

Probably Yoshiki's new fashion project won't make covers... he is so cheap to pay for using those song covers =P

I think there;s a difference between "fan" and "fanatic" ... 😌

but whatever the case... this isn't really where this should be dicussed ne??? 😌

speaking of dir en grey(points to dakki's post about five posts back lol), how awesome is the pledge? I love that song, to me it seems like Kyo puts so much more into the songs were he actually sings rather than just screaming through the whole thing like agitated screams. Songs like the pledge, the final, concieved sorrow,Ryojoku no Ame, and Namamekashiki Ansoku Tomadoi ni Hohoemi are so damn good, kyo puts so much more emotion and power into those songs, they just seem so much better than their others.

back on topic: after SKIN performs at anime expo they are gonna start an American tour! I cant wait =]

@SaKeVi- yea i agree... on i think every other forum i'm on i am much more concious of fangirlism because sakevi's are everywhere ^_^ sometimes even i'm one O_O but here, you see, you're one of the few whistle-blowers, so normal anti-fangirls can slip into fangirlism without realizing it... i know i'm doing because i change the second i go on another site... but here you HAVE to emerse yourself in them because there *is* only one thread per band... yay for jref!!

@A-chama- yea... "fangirl" probably used to mean just "a fan that's a girl", but fans that love bands for the looks or the fanservice invaded the fanbase so that the term changed meaning... my guess at least. it's stupid, but so is the idea of obsesively following a band of pretty boys that make out with each other for people's amusement... @_@

@Nan Desu Ka- yea i love the pledge <3 the songs you listed are some of my favorites (though 90% of diru's music is my favorite)... but i also think the screaming holds strong emotion in it as well... but i'm also a fan of harder music. ah! let's discuss this on the Dir en grey thread (i forget what we're talking about on there right now...)

SKIN: uh... is anyone going to AX to see them? i'm trying to get over there, but it's gonna be pretty impossible for me... even though i live pretty close.

In the end we all are sheep and I see blue, you see green and so on and so further. Although I must admit the rants/arguments/whatever are kinda amusing and very entertaining to read. I was laughing with delight at the mayhem...(pokes dakkii and SaKeVi).
I love how A-chama was constantly putting 😌 and trying to clear everything up...Will this go on I wonder?

Does anyone know what Skin stands for, like am I spelling it right or is it S.K.I.N?

Nan Desu Ka- Totally agree with you about Kyo!:-)
